Founded in 1980 by Gianfranco Barizza and Aronne Miola, Italian menswear retailer Pal Zileri has since developed a reputation as one of Italy’s most respected fashion brands, combining traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design. This can be seen in the lookbook for the current season, in addition to the Momentum advertising campaign, which includes a short film by director Axel Filip Lindahl, below.
Shot by photographer Steven Pan, with styling by Andrea Tenerani and Matt Mulhall, the advertising campaign features model and actor Morgan Watkins in selections from the collection. The clothes which feature in the promotional materials – and those found within the collection – are manufactured with a dedication to workmanship found in few fashion brands. For example, there are 180 different manufacturing steps in the production of one jacket – produced entirely in Italy – in Quinto Vicentino workshops or by a network of selected Italian craftsmen.
In recent years, Pal Zileri has received significant investment from several partners, and is now helmed by creative director Mauro Ravizza Krieger. Krieger – who is an authority on men’s apparel, a stylist as well as craftsman – brings a rare sensibility for menswear to the brand. A sensibility that was developed working with the finest tailors and fabric of London, Rome, Paris, Milan and Berlin and enhanced further, through consulting for luxury goods and menswear retailers Loro Piana, Herno, Allegri and Caruso.
